Tecnica Zero G Peak Carbon Ski Boots
Description
As light as it gets without giving up all the fun on the way down.
The Zero G Peak Carbon is built for ski tourers who live for the uphill. At just over a kilo, it’s designed to crush vertical and cover ground efficiently. It’s not a freeride charger—if you want to drive 120-mm planks in a storm, look elsewhere. What you get instead is a boot that actually walks, with 75° of range, and still skis well enough to keep you confident on technical terrain and variable snow.
The carbon-reinforced Grilamid shell and Power Frame architecture give it surprising stiffness for its weight, with a flex that’s smooth and predictable rather than punishing. The fit is dialed: the C.A.S. shell and liner shape well to most feet, and the Z-cable buckle system holds the forefoot secure without hotspots. Vibram soles with carbon reinforcement keep things grippy and torsionally solid for scrambles and sketchy traverses.
Character: Think efficient climber first, capable descender second. It’s happiest on lightweight touring skis in the 85–100 mm range, where the balance between uphill ease and downhill performance feels spot-on.
Best for: Dedicated backcountry skiers who measure days in vertical meters, not chairlift laps. Perfect if your priority is big days, long traverses, and steep objectives where efficiency matters more than brute force on the descent.
