Atomic Backland 85 Skis

The Atomic Backland 85 marks a bold step forward in ski touring, blending all-terrain versatility with a significantly lower environmental impact. Designed for skiers who thrive on adventure in all conditions, this next-generation touring ski is built with purpose and performance in mind.

A full life cycle assessment guided the construction of the new Backland 85, resulting in a 30% reduction in material-based CO₂ emissions compared to the 2021 model. This was achieved through the use of more sustainably sourced poplar wood, reduced fiberglass and resin, and waste-minimizing sidewalls.

At the front, the new HRZN 3D tip—an evolution of Atomic’s original HRZN Tech—features a broad, three-dimensional shape that enhances float in powder and improves handling in variable snow. The All-Terrain Profile optimizes the wood-to-fiberglass ratio, adding torsional stiffness and a refined flex pattern for better stability on harder surfaces.

At 1250 Lightweight, responsive, and capable across a wide range of conditions, the Backland 85 is the ideal companion for dawn patrol missions, evening laps, or extended backcountry tours.

We accept returns on eligible items within 15 days of delivery, provided the product is in like-new condition.

Footwear may be tried indoors only (home or treadmill). All returned items must be unworn beyond fit testing, include original manufacturer packaging and hang tags (fees may apply if damaged) and have been purchased from SkiUphill-RunUphill within the 15-day window. Apparel must be completely unworn.

Final Sale / Non-Returnable Items
All sale items are final sale. The following items are not eligible for return: carbon-plated running shoes, avalanche safety equipment (transceivers, shovels, probes, airbags), climbing equipment (ropes, harnesses, carabiners, belay devices, slings), ski crampons, helmets and gift cards.

Return Process & Fees
International returns are not accepted. A 10% deduction applies to all refunds to cover credit card processing and administrative fees.
