Suunto Vertical 2 Watch
Suunto Vertical 2
Built for the days that start in the dark and end well past the last cell tower.
The Vertical 2 takes everything that made the original a workhorse — multi-week battery, real navigation, a case that doesn't flinch — and sharpens it. Bigger, brighter LTPO AMOLED display. A redesigned optical HR sensor sitting on a flat backpanel that actually stays put on your wrist. And a built-in LED flashlight, which you'll appreciate the first time you're sorting gear at 4am or finishing a descent in the dark.
Tough where it counts
Rock gullies, sidehilling through slide alder, a full day of Coast Mountain rain — the Vertical 2 handles it. Water resistant to 100m, and the display reads clearly whether you're under headlamp or staring at a glacier at noon. Every function runs off physical buttons, so you're never peeling off a glove to check your split.
Battery for long missions
Up to 65 hours in the most accurate GPS mode, and up to 20 days of everyday smartwatch use. Enough for a multi-day traverse, a self-supported race, or a season of just not thinking about charging it.
Navigation you can commit to
Free offline maps with real detail, plus dual-band GPS that holds a signal in steep, treed terrain. Sport-specific heatmaps show you where people actually go — useful for finding a line, or for avoiding the crowds. Climb Guidance breaks down the elevation, gradient, and surface ahead so you know what you're walking into.
Train smarter between the big days
The new backpanel gives the upgraded OHR sensor a better connection, which means more reliable blood oxygen, HRV, and sleep data. Training Zone and Suunto Coach turn that into guidance that adapts as your fitness does — so the Type 2 fun stays fun.
Ready for what's next
Faster hardware means the Vertical 2 has room to grow: new features and software updates are coming, and it plays well with Strava, Komoot, and a widening list of partner apps. Buy it for this season, keep it for the next several.
