The R2 TechFace is the warmer, heavier sibling in the TechFace lineup. The same dual-construction logic applies: high-loft double-weave fabric that's soft and insulating against the skin, smooth DWR-treated face that sheds moisture and resists abrasion on the outside. The R2 runs a higher-loft fleece than the R1 TechFace, which means noticeably more warmth and noticeably less breathability at high output. It's the one you reach for when the temperature drops and the effort is moderate.
On a skin track at altitude it works as a standalone in cold conditions, but at higher output it will warm you up faster than the R1 version. Left chest pocket, two high handwarmer pockets, and two interior drop-in pockets, all harness and pack-compatible with clean zipper garages. Soft kissing-welt zipper at the chin for next-to-skin comfort. Partial binding at hem seals warmth in. Slim fit.
