Pa'lante V2 w/ Joey Straps Backpack
The V2 is Pa'lante's core thru-hiking pack. This version swaps the standard shoulder straps for the vest-style harness from their Joey fastpack, a two-layer 3D mesh construction that wraps around the upper torso rather than sitting on individual points. The result is a pack that moves with you rather than on you, which matters a lot over big days.
The body is 210D UHMWPE Gridstop throughout, the same material as the Desert. Field testing on the Arizona Trail put over 2,000 miles on the standard V2 body without durability issues, and the Joey straps hold up well to abrasion. The new 70D 3x3 UHMWPE grid mesh used on the pockets is an upgrade from previous versions, hitting a better balance of stretch, weight, and longevity than standard mesh.
Pocket access is the V2's calling card. The bottom stash pocket (with a separate trash portal on the opposite side) can be reached while moving, the side pockets fit two 1L bottles each and are reachable on the go, and the shoulder strap pockets handle a phone or snacks without stopping. There's a designated tent stake pocket in the front mesh, a stashable hip belt that garages inside the side pocket so it doesn't interfere with bottle access, a G-hook top closure, and a hydration port. A sleeping pad folded against the back panel is the recommended approach to structure and carry comfort.
Worth flagging: frameless means load limit matters. Comfort starts to drop noticeably above 20lbs, so this pack is best matched with a dialed base weight. The Joey straps distribute load across a wider area than traditional padded straps, but they don't fully replace the support of a framed pack on heavy carries. Sizing runs 16" (small) and 19" (medium/large), with a long strap option for taller frames.

We accept returns on eligible items within 15 days of delivery, provided the product is in like-new condition.
Footwear may be tried indoors only (home or treadmill). All returned items must be unworn beyond fit testing, include original manufacturer packaging and hang tags (fees may apply if damaged) and have been purchased from SkiUphill-RunUphill within the 15-day window. Apparel must be completely unworn.
Final Sale / Non-Returnable Items
