The Peak 45 is Ortovox's high alpine pack. It's the one that comes along when the objective is serious, the approach is long, and you're carrying everything for a multi-day mountaineering or ski mountaineering mission. At 45L it has the volume for overnight kit, technical gear, and food without making you choose what stays home.
The standout feature is the Swisswool 3D back system. Metal struts in the back panel provide the structure needed to carry loads up to 25kg comfortably, and the back panel, shoulder straps, and hip belt are all lined with pressed Swiss wool rather than synthetic foam. Wool absorbs nearly 30 times more moisture than foam before feeling wet and is meaningfully more breathable. The full-contact fit sits close to the body for stability on technical terrain.
Main compartment access is top and perimeter zipper. The side access zip runs from the right shoulder down around the bottom to the left hip, opening the entire pack flat. Dedicated safety compartment, side crampon compartment with drainage holes, rope attachment and exit, ice axe and pole holders, diagonal and A-frame ski carry, snowboard and snowshoe attachment, helmet net, hip belt pocket, map and guidebook pocket, hidden internal pocket for valuables.
