Nike Alphafly 3 Glam Shoes (Men's)

Nike Alphafly 3 is the “hold my gels” race-day weapon for runners who want maximum propulsion with less drama than the last two versions. Built for road racing, it shines from half marathons to marathons, combining a full-length carbon Flyplate, dual forefoot Air Zoom units, and a thick slab of ZoomX foam to keep things fast when the miles stack up.

Compared to Alphafly 1 and 2, the ride is smoother and more connected. Nike finally links the midsole and outsole, reducing that clunky, mechanical feel while keeping the signature Air Zoom pop. It’s also noticeably lighter than Alphafly 2, and the updated AtomKnit upper is more breathable with better lockdown.

Character-wise, this is a bouncy, efficient, high-stack rocket that rewards good form and steady pressure through the plate. With roughly 39 mm in the heel and 32 mm in the forefoot, cushioning is still outrageous, which is exactly why it excels when races stop being cute and start being long.

Who it’s for: runners chasing PRs from 5K upward who like a pronounced, propulsive ride and want Alphafly speed without the brick-like feel of the previous version. It’s also friendlier if earlier Alphaflys irritated your arch, as the fit feels more dialed and less intrusive.

Who should pass: anyone looking for a quiet, natural daily trainer, or runners who don’t get along with aggressive super-shoe geometry. This is still a race machine, unapologetically so.
