Head Crux Pro Ski Boots
Description
The Crux Pro is unapologetically built for skiers who put the descent first. It’s stiff, powerful, and feels closer to an alpine boot than a lightweight touring slipper. If you spend your days charging steep couloirs, skiing aggressive freeride lines, or want one touring boot that can actually drive big skis with confidence, this is where the Crux Pro shines. With a progressive flex north of 120, a tall cuff, and Vibram soles, it locks you in and rewards hard, committed skiing.
On the uphill, the range of motion is impressive, but this isn’t the lightest boot in its class. At around 1,250 g it’s reasonable for long tours, but you’ll feel the beef when stacking vertical. Fit is precise and narrow—great if you’ve got low-volume feet and want a locked-in feel, but challenging if you’re wider or higher-volume. Getting in and out can be fiddly, and the liner won’t hide pressure points if the shell shape doesn’t match you.
Who it’s for: advanced and expert skiers who ski aggressively in the backcountry, want a touring boot that feels close to alpine, and are willing to trade some uphill comfort for downhill authority. It’s ideal if your days involve steep faces, firm snow, or driving mid-fat to wide skis.
