Chance Lightweight Socks
Most performance running socks are built from synthetic petroleum-derived fibers. Chance went a different direction: the Lightweight Trail Sock is knit from EVO, a bio-based yarn derived from castor beans, a non-food crop that grows without irrigation or intensive agriculture. The material is fully renewable, and the performance properties it produces are genuinely functional rather than just a sustainability talking point.
The all-over mesh construction keeps the sock as breathable as possible throughout. Mid-calf height with targeted compression built into the knit structure, designed to keep the foot stable inside the shoe without restricting circulation. The castor bean yarn has natural bacteriostatic properties, meaning it resists odor without requiring chemical treatments. The result is a sock that handles everything from easy recovery days to the back half of an ultra without the usual accumulation of problems that come with either.
No padding zones, no reinforced heel or toe panels. This is a minimal sock by design. If you want cushioning underfoot, Chance makes a Padded Trail Sock on the same EVO yarn platform with midfoot padding added. That one's worth looking at if you're running in a lower-stack shoe or spending extended time on hard terrain.

Returns and Exchanges
We accept returns on eligible items within 15 days of delivery, provided the product is in like-new condition.
Footwear may be tried indoors only (home or treadmill). All returned items must be unworn beyond fit testing, include original manufacturer packaging and hang tags (fees may apply if damaged) and have been purchased from SkiUphill-RunUphill within the 15-day window. Apparel must be completely unworn.
Final Sale / Non-Returnable Items
All sale items are final sale. The following items are not eligible for return: carbon-plated running shoes, avalanche safety equipment (transceivers, shovels, probes, airbags), climbing equipment (ropes, harnesses, carabiners, belay devices, slings), ski crampons, helmets and gift cards.
Return Process & Fees
International returns are not accepted. A 10% deduction applies to all refunds to cover credit card processing and administrative fees.
