ATK Hy 13 Free 2027 Bindings

The HY 13 is ATK's answer to the Salomon Shift, built the way ATK builds things: CNC-machined 7075 aluminium throughout, 22 machined parts per binding, as little plastic as possible. The result is a hybrid binding that's lighter than the Marker Kingpin and feels alpine on the descent.

The concept is the same as any hybrid: tech inserts for efficiency on the skin track, an alpine-style toe that rotates forward and locks down for the descent. In ski mode the boot sits flat on the ski, eliminating the ramp angle differential that tech bindings create and delivering an alpine-like platform underfoot. Toe elasticity is 18mm per side, heel travel is 7-9mm, and the DIN range runs 6-13, which covers everything from a strong intermediate to a heavy freerider sending big terrain. The Cam Release System and adjustable AFD spacers under the toe handle different sole types and thicknesses, from GripWalk through standard tech-insert freeride boots.

The walk mode is where ATK went further than the competition. Three positions: a unique negative mode at -18mm that drops the heel below toe level, reducing calf strain on flat approaches and improving stride efficiency for stiff freeride boots with limited cuff mobility, plus two standard heel risers at +10mm and +34mm, both pole-operable. Hy Brake System auto-locks the brake in walk mode.
