Arc'teryx Micon Litric 42L Airbag
The Arc'teryx Micon LiTRIC 42L Avalanche Airbag is built for backcountry skiers and splitboarders who want top tier safety without sacrificing comfort or style. It combines a 42-litre touring pack with the cartridge-free LiTRIC™ electric airbag system, developed in collaboration with Ortovox. The LiTRIC unit offers a 150-litre inflation volume, multiple deployments per charge, and easy USB-C recharging. It’s also airline-friendly: no cartridges, no refills, no hassle.
Constructed with N210r HT nylon, taped seams, and WaterTight™ zippers, the Micon feels every bit as technical as it looks. Despite packing a full airbag system, it carries like a normal touring pack: light, balanced, and comfortable for long days in the mountains. Reviewers consistently note how natural it feels on the skin track and how clean the layout is for layering, skins, tools, and avalanche gear.
This pack is designed for people who spend real time in avalanche terrain: mountaineers, guides, and big-day tourers who need a pack they’ll actually wear, not one they leave in the car. It’s roomy enough to handle a full kit and extra layers but still compact enough to move well on technical terrain. The overall vibe is classic Arc’teryx: minimalist, refined, and quietly overbuilt for serious mountain use.
Inside, you’ll find smart organization and functional touches: a roll-top closure, a dedicated avy tools compartment, external helmet carry, and a spacious top pocket for goggles or snacks. The fit and suspension are tuned for long approaches and aggressive descents, though some reviewers note the back panel padding is fairly minimal, giving a slightly bouncy feel on rough lines. Others mention the avy pocket zipper sits under a compression strap, which can be fiddly with gloves.
If you’ve avoided airbag systems because they were bulky or awkward, this one changes the game. The Micon LiTRIC 42L feels fast, sleek, and confidence-inspiring—perfect for anyone chasing steep lines, long tours, and smarter safety in the backcountry.
