Arc'teryx Micon Litric 32L Airbag
The Arc’teryx Micon LiTRIC 32 is the “no-excuses” avalanche airbag pack for people who actually tour, not just talk about it. Arc’teryx stripped the design down to what matters and built it around the LiTRIC electronic airbag system co-developed with Ortovox, one of the lightest and most refined systems out there right now.
At roughly 2.1–2.3 kg including the airbag, it feels like a true daily-driver rather than a once-in-a-while safety pack. The 32 L volume is honest and usable, with a big main compartment, a 270-degree zipper for easy access, a dedicated avy tools pocket, and simple ski/split carry that stays streamlined. The harness and back panel are classic Arc’teryx: clean, low-bulk, and comfortable on long days.
The LiTRIC system is the real party trick. Supercapacitors plus a small lithium-ion battery give you multiple deployments off a single USB-C charge, lightning-fast inflation, and easy repacking. No canisters, no refills, no airport drama. You can actually pull the handle for practice without wasting anything, and the LED status window keeps things idiot-proof.
Character-wise, this is a minimalist, fast-moving touring pack with luxury construction. It’s not a pockets-everywhere freeride hauler. If you like clean layouts, durable fabrics, and low weight, you’re the target audience. Ideal for committed backcountry skiers and splitboarders doing real tours several times a week, for ski guides who care about grams, or for sidecountry riders who want an airbag that doesn’t feel like a boat anchor.
Compared to Arc’teryx’s previous Voltair generation, the difference is night and day. The old Voltair 30 came in around 3.5 kg and was famous for bulk. The Micon LiTRIC 32 drops roughly a full kilo, uses a far more compact and cold-tolerant supercapacitor system instead of a huge battery, and frees up real usable pack volume. It carries like a normal touring pack instead of a battery strapped to your back.
Lightweight, practice-friendly, travel-friendly, and genuinely comfortable for full days in the mountains, the Micon LiTRIC 32 is the first Arc’teryx airbag that feels built for the way people actually ski.
