Canmore Nordic Centre - EKG Loop

EKG is a Canmore Nordic Centre classic! Over 8 km, you get to run on some of the best single tracks that the nordic centre has to offer while not getting too far away from civilization. The area features tons of junctions and detours in case you want to start adding distance or if you're looking for some change. The EKG trail is the best way to familiarize yourself with the trail map and the different options. One of Joel's favourite go-to trails.

Tip: Run that trail counter-clockwise (from Green Orchid up towards the meadow then down to FYI). This direction is the reverse of what most mountain bikers do. You can see the bike traffic better when they are coming in the opposite direction. 

  • Distance: 8 km for the Classic EKG (in red). 1,3 km for the EKG East extension (in green)
  • There is an alternate entry/exit by taking the "Canmore Hill" instead of the Soft Yogurt/Devonian Drop combination. It is marked in blue on the map below.
