Ortovox Steel 320+ Avalanche Probe
The Steel 320+ is the professional rescue organization probe that gets used by ski patrol, mountain guides, and rescue teams who prioritize absolute rigidity and durability over weight. At 680g it's the heaviest probe in the Ortovox lineup, and the 12mm steel segments are the reason: stiffer, more resistant to bending under lateral pressure in dense debris, and effectively indestructible under normal use conditions.
The PFA 2.0 quick-assembly strap deploys the full 320cm straight out of the cover in one pull, steel cable tensioning system keeping every element in alignment. Same visual guidance system as the rest of the lineup: contrasting depth markers, clear 1m marker, neon orange bottom segment. Rubberized grip handles cold and ice. Extendable with additional segments. Interchangeable tip.
The weight is the honest consideration. For a ski tourer or freerider carrying this in a pack all day, the Steel 320+ is a hard sell when the Alu or Carbon versions cover the same burial depths at significantly less weight. Where the steel makes sense is in a depot kit, a rescue cache, a vehicle, or any scenario where it will be carried short distances and used hard. It's also the probe that won't flex or deflect when you're probing through ice layers or compacted debris at depth.

Returns and Exchanges
We accept returns on eligible items within 15 days of delivery, provided the product is in like-new condition.
Footwear may be tried indoors only (home or treadmill). All returned items must be unworn beyond fit testing, include original manufacturer packaging and hang tags (fees may apply if damaged) and have been purchased from SkiUphill-RunUphill within the 15-day window. Apparel must be completely unworn.
Final Sale / Non-Returnable Items
All sale items are final sale. The following items are not eligible for return: carbon-plated running shoes, avalanche safety equipment (transceivers, shovels, probes, airbags), climbing equipment (ropes, harnesses, carabiners, belay devices, slings), ski crampons, helmets and gift cards.
Return Process & Fees
International returns are not accepted. A 10% deduction applies to all refunds to cover credit card processing and administrative fees.
