Description

If you’re chasing big days in the backcountry but don’t want to lug around powder boards made for whales, the Crux 105 Pro is your hard-charging, mid-fat all-terrain weapon. With its 105 mm waist, Karuba & Graphene core, and a triaxial carbon jacket, this ski delivers float, edge hold, and stiffness in a package that still wants to climb.

Omitting a traditional topsheet (“Topless Tech”) trims weight, and the different rocker-camber-rocker profile gives you play in powder, solid grip on firmer or variable snow, and enough stability to push speed without getting mushy. The sandwich cap construction with UHM C base adds punch on the descent, while the tail notch helps with skins. In the 184 cm length you get around 1,440 g per ski — lighter than many skis in this width class—but it still feels beefy when you need to drive hard.

On snow, the Crux 105 Pro is for the skier who wants versatility with muscle. It slashes soft snow, handles variable conditions without feeling out of control, and carves impressively when you lean it over. That said, at its best when you let it stretch out in longer arcs; tight trees or super steep technical sniping might feel more demanding. It’s not dead weight, but you’ll notice it above your shoulders on long skinups.

This ski is built for advanced to expert backcountry freeriders who want something that floats well in powder, handles mixed snow, and delivers downhill confidence without totally sacrificing uphill mobility. It’s ideal for those who do long missions, hunt waist-fat snow but still want control when things firm up. If you live in a zone where snow is almost always deep, maybe go wider; if you rarely leave firm snow, something narrower or stiff-focused might get you more nimbleness. But if you want one “do-everything mid-fat” that shows up, this is it.
