Amplid Surf Shuttle Splitboard
Description
The Amplid Surf Shuttle is a freeride splitboard designed for riders who want surfy float in powder and durability for everyday backcountry use. It sits between Amplid’s ultralight carbon line and heavier glass splits, striking a balance between performance and toughness.
On the descent, the wide nose, tapered outline, and fish-tail shape deliver effortless float and a playful surf feel. The Directional Cruise Camber keeps the board carving predictably and stable at speed, while the medium-stiff flex adds confidence in chopped or variable snow. It’s not as featherweight as the Milligram, but the tradeoff is a more composed and forgiving ride in crud and mixed conditions.
For the climb, the Surf Shuttle still moves efficiently thanks to a Stratospheric topsheet that sheds snow, skin holes and tail notches for secure skins, and a profile that grips well on the skin track. It’s not the lightest on the uphill, but the extra grams mean more durability and a longer lifespan.
Construction includes a BBP wood core reinforced with Amplid’s Knuckle Sandwich build, which protects high-impact areas, plus underfoot impact pads, a tough sintered base, and robust hardware. Newer versions add a “Crust Buster” nose to smooth out tracking in 3D or crusty snow, making it more versatile across conditions.
This board is for intermediate to advanced riders who love powder and want a surf-inspired feel but also need a board that holds its own when conditions get less than ideal. It’s a great fit for backcountry riders who prioritize float, durability, and downhill fun over ultralight minimalism.
Bottom line: the Surf Shuttle is the freeride splitboard that marries surf-style float with real-world durability, delivering a board you can trust to handle big pow days and beat-up snow alike.
