The Experience Wild 3+ is Altra’s take on a modern, do-everything trail shoe: cushioned, confident, and surprisingly composed when the terrain gets messy. It blends a natural-feeling ride with real trail protection, landing squarely between mellow daily trainer and full-on mountain weapon. Comfortable enough for long days, stable enough for sketchy footing.

Underfoot, the EGO™ P35 midsole keeps things light and forgiving without feeling sloppy, while the 4 mm drop and rocker geometry encourage smooth turnover on climbs and cruisy efficiency on flats. The Vibram® Megagrip outsole is the headline upgrade here—sticky, predictable, and far more trustworthy on wet rock, roots, and loose trail than previous versions. Add in Altra’s roomy toe box and you’ve got a shoe that stays comfortable when feet swell and miles stack up.

Compared to earlier Experience Wild models, the 3+ feels tougher and more trail-serious. Grip is significantly improved, the upper is more structured and protective, and the overall ride feels more stable and planted at higher effort or on technical ground. Less “trail-adjacent,” more confidently off-road.

This shoe is for trail runners who want cushioning without losing trail feel, hikers who move fast and cover ground, and runners who don’t care about podiums but do care about staying comfortable and upright for a long time. We accept returns on eligible items within 15 days of delivery, provided the product is in like-new condition.

Footwear may be tried indoors only (home or treadmill). All returned items must be unworn beyond fit testing, include original manufacturer packaging and hang tags (fees may apply if damaged) and have been purchased from SkiUphill-RunUphill within the 15-day window. Apparel must be completely unworn.

Final Sale / Non-Returnable Items
All sale items are final sale. The following items are not eligible for return: carbon-plated running shoes, avalanche safety equipment (transceivers, shovels, probes, airbags), climbing equipment (ropes, harnesses, carabiners, belay devices, slings), ski crampons, helmets and gift cards.

Return Process & Fees
International returns are not accepted. A 10% deduction applies to all refunds to cover credit card processing and administrative fees.
