Kästle TX107 Skis
Description
If powder calls your name and big terrain is your playground, the Kästle TX107 is the ski that answers. It’s built for freeride touring skiers who demand float, confidence, and versatility—because you’re not just skinning, you’re choosing lines and sending them too.
This ski blends power and finesse. At the heart is a paulownia/poplar wood core reinforced with carbon and fiberglass, packaged inside a semi-cap sandwich sidewall construction that keeps the balance strong: stout underfoot when you need grip, yet light enough for long climbs. The Hollowtech Evo tip insert reduces swing weight and quiets chatter without killing the soul of the ride. Rockered tip and tail plus a camber section underfoot give you both float in soft snow and edge hold in mixed or firm snow, with a “hook-free” shovel and tail profile that shifts contact points inward for smoother turn initiation. With a waist of 107 mm, this ski lives in the sweet-spot for big mountain days when you want serious float—but still want to stay nimble in tighter trees or tricky terrain.
On the descent, the TX107 feels confident, surfy, and composed. It loves blow-overs, pillows, crusts, and those deep snow days where most skis bury themselves. At speed it doesn’t chatter or wander, thanks to its well-damped build. In tighter terrain or where snow is more variable, it demands a solid stance and control, but rewards those who push. It’s not the quickest in super tight switchbacks or ultra-light uphill missions, but where others give up float or control, this one holds its own.
This is a ski for advanced to expert freeride tourers who split their time between climbing long approaches and dropping bold lines. If you live in powder country, ski big faces, surf pillows, and want a ski that can do everything from fresh snow to mixed powder-firm days, this is your weapon. If you mostly chase ultralight uphill days, or are in firm or groomed snow most of the time, you might find something lighter or narrower more forgiving. But for those who want one ski that doesn’t sell out on the downhill, the TX107 delivers.
