Arc'teryx Alpha SV Jacket (Men's)
The Alpha SV has been Arc'teryx's flagship alpine shell for over 25 years, and the current version is the lightest and most technically refined it's ever been. From 708g in 1998 to 485g today, on a fabric that's stronger and now PFAS-free.
The current shell is 100-denier Gore-Tex Pro ePE throughout. The ePE membrane is half the thickness of previous Gore-Tex Pro but stronger, and it's the first Alpha SV built entirely without PFAS. The 100-denier face fabric is the heaviest Arc'teryx uses, and the reason guides drag this jacket through rock chimneys for seven consecutive seasons without it showing. At 485g it's light for what it is, though it's not a lightweight alpine shell by modern standards. That's the trade.
The StormHood is single-pull, helmet-compatible, and moves with your head on a steep pitch without breaking its seal. It's the feature that earns the most consistent praise across independent reviews and field use. This version adds two internal dump pockets for gloves or a toque, a zippered security pocket, and a low-profile RECCO reflector hidden in the hood brim. Two harness-compatible chest pockets, pit zips, WaterTight zippers throughout, FC0 PFAS-free DWR.
No hand warmer pockets. Regular fit sits closer than the old relaxed Alpha SV cut but still accommodates a mid-layer. The Alpha SV is not a high-output shell; the 100-denier Gore-Tex Pro breathes, but it's a protection-first fabric. Wear it on the belay, in the storm, on the crux.
Returns and Exchanges
We accept returns on eligible items within 15 days of delivery, provided the product is in like-new condition.
Footwear may be tried indoors only (home or treadmill). All returned items must be unworn beyond fit testing, include original manufacturer packaging and hang tags (fees may apply if damaged) and have been purchased from SkiUphill-RunUphill within the 15-day window. Apparel must be completely unworn.
Final Sale / Non-Returnable Items
All sale items are final sale. The following items are not eligible for return: carbon-plated running shoes, avalanche safety equipment (transceivers, shovels, probes, airbags), climbing equipment (ropes, harnesses, carabiners, belay devices, slings), ski crampons, helmets and gift cards.
Return Process & Fees
International returns are not accepted. A 10% deduction applies to all refunds to cover credit card processing and administrative fees.
