Patagonia Super Free Alpine Jacket (Men's)
The Super Free Alpine Jacket is built for modern alpinism where storms, spindrift, and long days on sharp terrain are the norm. Patagonia uses a 3-layer GORE-TEX ePE Performance shell—lightweight, fully waterproof, and breathable—with the fabric, membrane, and DWR finish all made without intentionally added PFAS. It’s tough enough for the alpine yet light and packable for long pushes.
A helmet-compatible hood with a lightly insulated Storm Seal gasket locks in warmth and blocks wind. High hand pockets sit above a harness or hipbelt, while watertight pit zips dump heat fast. The cuffs use slim hook-and-loop tabs and internal gaskets that keep sleeves in place when you’re swinging tools. A drop-tail hem with a Clean Clip cutout boosts mobility and makes racking gear easier, all cinched with Patagonia’s Cohaesive cord-lock system for one-handed adjustment.
At 420 g (14.8 oz), this shell keeps weight down without cutting corners. RECCO® reflector built in. Fair Trade Certified™ sewn, bluesign® approved fabrics.
Bottom line: A stripped-down, storm-proof hardshell made for alpine climbing—where every gram counts, but so does every detail.
