June 9th to June 16th 2024
One more challenge stands between you and victory.
It's you versus the mountain. One last battle to prove you've got what it takes. Welcome to Anklebiter Ridge: 620 vertical meters of pure, unfiltered Rocky Mountain madness. Dirt trails, scree fields, and leg-shredding branches are your only companions on this brutal ascent. Whether you're gunning for glory in the General Classification or fighting for laurels in the tournament, this is your moment.
Getting to the Start
From the Grotto Pond trailhead, follow the broad trail until the first junction. Turn right, then the segment starts at the next junction. See image below.
The challenge starts at the waypoint in the image.
Challenge Description
The approach trail will eventually intersect where the Anklebiter Ridge Start Trail begins. Start your watch as soon as you turn right at the junction.
From there, stick to the ridge more or less and follow the path of least resistance up Anklebiter Ridge. Varied surfaces including dirt, scree and limestone slabs await.
Touch the small cairn at the false summit of Anklebiter ridge and stop your watch. The false summit is located right before a short descent at treeline.
