Ossa-Pelion Basin

Description: An outing to the basin below Ossa and Pelion will surely make you feel small as you stare up at the massive North faces and glaciers of both mountains. Runners get to enjoy a long ascent through the old growth forests of the Sigurd Creek trail. After crossing several avalanche paths runners will be rewarded with single track though a massive blueberry patch. Eventually you will have to take your shoes off and cross Sigurd Creek. If water levels are high in the valley then this run is not a good option. If they are low then it should only be ankle deep for 10 meters. Once runners emerge into the basin they will be treated with breathtaking views. Make noise near Sigurd Creek since bears frequent this area.
