What We Think:
The M-Vertical just keeps winning everything over in Europe, and the reason behind that is that it’s a super dependable ski that proves you don't need a mega stiff plank to get a great mountain ski. The very short rocker here is compensated with a round flex that makes for a nimble and easy ski with plenty of pivot and grip. However, it doesn't require much “muscle” and aggressive initiation to respond and do what you want. At just around 1150 gram per ski, the M-Vertical 88 features a full wood core and a sidewall construction (better grip on edge) mixed with a bunch of carbon and other expensive fibres. A favourite for accessibility and for quality at a super competitive price point, and a special mention the tip notch that allows you to run different skin configurations (3/4 race skins with bungee, full length reverse system, regular tip and tail clips).
Advantages: Responsive, accessible, doesn’t require alpine skills to be fun
What Dynastar Says
Precut Dynastar skins available here
It is aimed at ski tourers who are curious or eager for vertical metres, but in particular, those who hack their way up to a slope with an ice axe.
Embrace the essence of the discipline: from pure ski touring to steep slopes, and like Vivian, always remember that "there are still things left to be invented".
