Warranty, Returns & Shipping

OUR GUARANTEE TO YOU

We want you to be tremendously happy with the products that you purchase from us. We use and love the stuff that we carry as well. Most products we sell in-store carry a 1-year warranty or more depending on the manufacturer. We also guarantee the product selection advice we give. If something you purchased based on this advice turns out to be unsuitable, you can bring it back for an exchange, repair or credit. You can fill out a warranty request online here.

  • We accept returns on shoes that are in like-new condition within 30 days of original purchase. If you try them on your treadmill or at home and they don't fit, you are welcome to send them back for return or exchange. However, if you have ran enough distance for the shoes to show wear, we will not accept them as a return. We provide the best advice and stand by our products, but we also are a small business and cannot realistically accept returns on worn-out items that are not returned for warranty purposes.
  • Following items are final sale: Ski Boots, Avalanche Safety Equipment, Climbing Equipment, Safety Gear, Ski Crampons.

WILL MY STUFF LAST?

People come to SkiUphill for quality and expert advice, but even quality items have a practical lifespan. Trail running and backcountry skiing equipment wears out and can be damaged by accident, neglect, misuse or simply by the mileage they see. Those things aren’t covered, but we can look to have it repaired for a reasonable fee by a local resource.

We view this guarantee in a similar way to our values as a company: provide great gear, give knowledgeable and great advice and treat each other fairly, as our moms used to tell us.

HOW TO RETURN ITEMS

If you bring us dirty items, we’ll have some questions for you and we won’t accept your return. We want you to love your products and when you buy skis and bindings and have us expertly mount them they can’t be resold as new, so some limits apply to returns and exchanges. If you are paying through PayPal or PayPal eCheque we will return what you paid less PayPal fees (these are charged by PayPal and not refunded to us). Products need to be in like new condition with the original packaging. 

YOU CAN ALWAYS STOP BY

You can see us at the store in person to make a return or exchange. If that is not convenient, you can return items via mail at your cost. Shipping to customers is free within Canada for items over certain amounts and returns or exchanges are at your cost (CanadaPost is around $18-20 to a commercial address). INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS

Shipments destined to the United States or outside of Canada are levied charges based on import fees that are set by the government where you are importing it in from. Most skiing products have HS Code 9506 and fees are dependent on where the item was produced. Some countries do require a broker to import them for you and may levy a fee (3%). Conversion from your credit cards currency is also something to inquire about. Most banks charge a conversion fee in addition. To ensure that you receive your product in a timely manner we only use tracked air for shipping. 

OTHER WARRANTY STUFF

Most of our products are covered by an extended manufacturer’s warranty, woohoo. This guarantee covers manufacturing defects but not abuse, accidental damage or normal usage. Please give us a call and we can give you more details on a particular manufacturer.
